Store Manager

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

As Store Manager, you will maintain Total Wine & More's brand by executing all company programs and best practices focusing on exceptional service, selection, and value. This includes developing store strategies, tactics, and team member development plans to achieve sales, service, and operational performance goals. While focusing on key business initiatives, you will be responsible for maximizing sales & profitability by driving the overall sales and customer service culture within the store.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain a sales and service culture focused on customer experience, brand awareness, and loyalty
  • Drive retail sales, margin, and Winery Direct metrics
  • Drive marketing efforts within the building and establish relationships throughout the community
  • Oversee general operations according to company policies and procedures
  • Ownership of overall store appearance in accordance with marketing and merchandising guidelines
  • Ensure visual presentation guidelines are maintained at all times, including signage and pricing
  • Deliver Payroll & Controllable expenses on plan
  • Staff and schedule to meet business needs, including interviewing, hiring, and training team members
  • Maintain store inventory levels and safety standards; ensure asset protection
  • Manage product ordering and flow, replenishment processes, and vendor relationships
  • Create and foster a sales-focused environment through the training and development of team members at all levels
  • Participate in product knowledge training and implement in store through team coaching
  • Lead the performance management process, including reviews and ongoing career development discussions
  • Provide direction and coaching related to all team member performance issues
  • Support an environment that encourages creative thinking and risk taking
  • Effectively use company information, tools, and systems to meet customer and team member needs

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Experience, Skills and Education:

  • 21 years of age or older
  • 5 years retail sales, customer service, or hospitality management experience
  • Prior experience in leading a sales-focused team and creating a sales culture/environment
  • Prior experience managing overall financial performance
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires
  • Associates Degree or relevant work experience equivalent

Preferred Experience, Skills and Education:

  • 4-year degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Retail Store Manager experience in a big or medium box retail store environment
  • Strong business agility and flexibility
  • Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks at a time and meet deadlines
  • History of willingly assisting others and acting as a team player

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (with or without accommodations):

  • Ability to walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 10-12 hours a day
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead and repeatedly
