Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Technician for a company located in Trenton, GA.

Shift: 1st

Summary
Operates coordinate measuring equipment such as Coordinate Measuring Machine, Optical Comparator, Laser Scanner, Portable Arm or other measuring equipment to measure dimensions of metal stampings, fixtures, assemblies or other parts by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reads and interprets blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerance specifications, datum structure for CMM programming and part holding/inspections, and uses these specifications to interpret and evaluate the measurements to the requirements.
Positions parts on measuring table of equipment, views on monitor screen, and adjusts equipment over specified sections.
Activates digital readout equipment, and records specified measurements.
Determines best measuring device and method to use (situational) per CAD and blueprint requirements.
Creates dimensional and capability reports.
Creates customer specific reports as needed.
Compares recorded measurements to blueprint dimensions and tolerances and notifies specified persons of discrepancies.

Performs capability studies, gage repeatability studies, gage calibrations (evaluating results and recommended corrections when needed).

Develops and maintains work instructions for metrology and calibrations to be compliant IATF.
Participates in evaluating gage designs and communicates to the team.
Maintains equipment/devices in good working order, recommending appropriate maintenance and corrections as needed.
Assists in the development of safety work instructions for metrology and calibrations to be compliant to applicable safety standards.
Records, documents and stores CMM programs or files per Gill s document control program.
Continually reviews job functions and proposes elimination of waste when identified.
Reviews and develops applicable 5S practices.
Assists with gage cleaning or repairs as applicable for production or calibration.
Follows company policies and procedures to ensure compliance to internal requirements and external requirements (Example: IATF 16949)

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with other team members.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software and Design software. Must be able to program PCDIMIS and be proficient or able to become proficient in Polyworks and Metris.
