Store Payables Clerk - Full-time / Part-time

BASIC PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is to ensure timely and accurate processing of all merchandise for resale invoices.  This position is also responsible for researching invoice payments, lost checks, past due invoices and reviewing vendor statements.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Audit invoices that are routed through the store audit application as an exception
• Determine and execute appropriate actions needed for resolution of any differences in invoiced amount and amount received/return by stores
• Communicate with stores and vendors when appropriate to resolve open invoices/credits
• Assist stores with any invoice/credits issues
• Other duties assigned as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience:
  • 1-2 years accounting related background.

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Skills:
  • Hard Skills: AS400, Banking terms and Access Database.
  • Soft Skills:  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong time management and organization skills, sense of urgency, keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage numerous competing demands in an extremely high stress environment.
• Typical Physical Demands:
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
