Microbiologist

Responsibilities are quality control activities supporting the manufacture of therapeutic cell products, implantable devices, and cell therapy combination products.

The Assistant, QC, will work in both laboratory and cleanroom environments under strict SOPs for performing environmental monitoring. This is a full time position. Essential duties will include:

1. Perform sampling using Environmental Monitoring (EM) equipment; sample handling; reporting results with accurate documentation; maintaining database of results; and investigation of (OOSs) and determination of root cause, as appropriate.

1. Perform quality review; inventory control, including quarantine and storage as necessary; and release of all incoming GMP materials with proper documentation.

1. Responsible for preventative maintenance and general upkeep of the QC EM equipment and areas.

1. Assist with purchasing general supplies and EM supplies.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years experience working in quality control or environmental monitoring in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company.
• Experience in an aseptic manufacturing clean room.
• Some experience in handling of biological/raw materials.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent record keeping skills and attention to detail.
• Must be skilled in Microsoft Windows and Office, including Word and Excel.
