Overview:

Ensure the timely and accurate entry of confidential weekly payroll information to ensure completeness for all store, home office, and distribution center associates for all domestic divisions. Ensure critical deadlines are met and transactions are appropriate based on the day of the week. Perform SOX compliance audits of weekly payroll information.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Receive and process adjustments to weekly payroll for stores, home office and distribution center associates. Review to ensure accuracy and completeness. Support stores, DC’s, and 300+ home office payroll administrators with questions and concerns with associate pay.
  • Review SOX and internal audit reports twice weekly, researching exceptions and documenting findings.
  • Monitor all incoming requests and process final pay requests for all store, home office and distribution center associates, complying with specific state regulations regarding timeliness of pay. Audit all final pay data to ensure accuracy. Work in both production and backup environments based on day and time of entry. Monitor compliance of termination procedures and escalate to senior management as necessary.
  • Adjust associate data for paid time off, shift differential hours, union payments, bonus, credit union contributions, etc. Enter data for associates on severance, disability, LOA, and those returning to work. Audit severance and disability data to ensure payment is made as directed.
  • Process inbound files for 401k, benefits, and DC incentive pay. Research and report exceptions.
  • Process petty cash transactions for final pay and pay adjustments for entry into the system. Request reimbursement into DC petty cash accounts and assist with research of outstanding reconciling items.
  • Process benefit reimbursements and deductions as requested by HR Xpress, monitor and enter time for new stores, void and reissue checks, and prepare store and home office checks for distribution.
Desired Skill Set:
  • Good Attention to detail (i.e. inquiring, reviewing, auditing, and entering data on a PC)
  • Very Good Problem Solving skills (i.e. can identify problems, research history, and highlight items that are “out of the norm”)
  • Ability to provide quality customer service to a variety of contacts, via verbal and written communication
  • Good Decision-Making skills (i.e. ability to decide based on a mixture of analysis, experience, and judgment); ability to escalate issues in a timely manner
  • Solid Organizational and Follow Through skills (ability to effectively handle multiple tasks each day and to clearly document findings)
  • Ability to work well in a high volume production environment as part of a team (working on a PC for the majority of the day)
  • Good Math and PC skills
Education and Experience :
  • 6 month to 1 Year Payroll experience
  • Bachelors Degree Preferred
