Assistant Manager - Greenhouse Production Operations - Night Shift - Full-time / Part-time

Oversee the daily operations of facilities that cultivate plants for commercial sale. Primary responsibilities will be to train, plan, organize, direct, control, and coordinate activities of workers engaged in propagating, cultivating, and selection of plants for customers. Maintain records and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, while practicing a continuous improvement philosophy in the production environment. This is a Night Shift opportunity working four 10 hour days (Monday - Thursday, 7:30p to 5:30a).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Direct all aspects of greenhouse production operations

• Coordinate equipment, supplies, and resource needs

• Assist in the development of operating budgets and manage the same

• Review production schedules to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing, work procedures, and duty assignments with consideration of time and budget

• Review operations and confer with technical and administrative staff to resolve production, processing, and personnel problems

• Lead, direct, coach and train production hourly personnel.

• Prepare and maintain production reports

• Set and monitor productivity standards

• Maintain and promote Safety activities to provide a safe working environment.

• Development and implement production tracking methods / systems and analyze production and operational reports to be proactive in detecting production problems

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Experience with Microsoft office: word, excel, power point

• Exceptional people and communication skills

• Effective verbal and writing skills

• Analytical with excellent problem solving skills and sound judgment

• Strong leadership and motivational skills

• Ability to work with all levels of employees and management.

• Supervisory experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

• College Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Production Operations

• Bilingual in Spanish

• Previous experience in front-line supervision
