Design/Value Engineer
This Engineer with be responsible for driving Value Analysis/Value Engineering efforts to identify, assess, and capture product design and manufacturing process efficiencies to achieve cost reduction. This person will Design Products in Solidworks to achieve cost reduction for manufacturability.
Collaborate with US and China based partners in the planning and execution of cost improvement projects for product manufactured in Asia.
Work with leadership to set yearly cost reduction targets to achieve profitability goals.
Provide technical support to Asia-based Design Engineering, Packaging Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering partners in project execution.
Consults with project management, product development, sourcing and operation colleagues to develop and maintain pipeline of cost reduction opportunities from which projects are selected.
Works with cross-functional partners in US and Asia on continuous improvement of the Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) stage-gate process.
Complete phase-gate checklists and other process documentation as necessary. Prepare and present project status summaries at gate reviews. Obtain necessary phase gate approvals.
