Position Summary:

This individual is responsible for ensuring a smooth and consistent operation in planning and coordinating the night shift work activities in our Warehouses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supervises the overnight loading responsibilities in our Atlanta metro area Warehouses.

  • Processes all presale orders and T-comm sales orders to ensure loading of products for delivery.
  • Ensures sales orders are properly routed for delivery as determined by Sales Department needs.
  • Effectively utilizes IDIG, ULM, VIP, Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ensures accurate orders are pulled for sub-loads.
  • Inspects equipment and reports any damage or deficiencies.
  • Ensures forklift safety standards are met.
  • Ensures clean up of warehouse in accordance with established Company standards.
  • Ensures proper procedures are followed for delivery unit T-comm.
  • Ensures proper rotation of all product inventories in accordance with established Company guidelines.

§ Conducts daily inventory of products in accordance with established Company guidelines.

§ Verifies all shipments received from the Brewery.

  • Directs salvage of damaged or out of date product.
  • Complies with all supplier requirements regarding product handling or exchange.
  • Meets or exceeds established deadlines.

2. Demonstrates effective supervision of the Warehouse staff in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws.

  • Effectively addresses employee complaints and resolves problems.
  • Ensures all employees have the skills and knowledge to do their jobs, or there is a plan to obtain them.
  • Successfully trains and motivates staff.
  • Ensures employees’ ability to operate warehouse equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Meets with staff to discuss progress of work and ensures that standards for quality and quantity of work are met.
  • Coaches, trains, and counsels staff, documenting issues as necessary. Ensures that employees receive an annual performance review.

3. Demonstrates effective communication methods.

  • Maintains and encourages an open line of communication with employees as well as internal customers.
  • Checks and responds to email and voice mail messages in a timely manner.
  • Accurately and legibly presents written data to affected internal customers.

4. Demonstrates effective customer service skills.

  • Fosters positive morale among staff, by promotion of open communication with all departments, to help create and maintain an innovative and cooperative staff relationship and environment.
  • Effectively manages varied human behavior and responses, maintaining control while providing direction during stressful situations.
  • Interacts with external and internal customers in a manner conducive to continued positive relationships. Displays patience, courtesy and tact.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, enthusiasm and willingness to cooperate while working with others or in place of others as necessary.

5. Performs additional tasks and duties necessary to maintain and ensure the efficient operation of warehouses.

6. The employee regularly reports to work at the scheduled starting time.

7. The employee adheres to the established dress code.

  • Company approved shoes are neat and clean.

8. Actively supports and promotes the Company’s mission and Corporate philosophy.

9. Understands and complies with all Atlanta Beverage Company policies and procedures.

  • Understands and accurately applies the Code Date book.
  • Follows the established Company Rotation policy for all products.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications - Education/Experience:

§ Some college education is preferable.

§ Two years of related experience and training.

§ Subject to all Company policies regarding all pre-employment testing, background check, and drug screen.

§ Two years of management experience in operations and warehouse is preferred.

Necessary Skills:

§ General working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.

§ Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

§ Ability to write reports, business correspondence and training manuals.

§ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

§ Strong supervisory, time management and interpersonal skills are essential.

Reasoning Ability:

§ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

§ Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands and Requirements:

§ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, finger, or feel; or to reach with hands and arms.

§ The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

§ The employee is frequently required to walk.

§ Must possess the ability to lift and/or move over 50 lbs.

§ Must be able to talk and hear to communicate with both internal and external customers.

§ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Environmental Conditions and Temperaments:

§ Job duties are performed inside a warehouse facility with a moderate to loud noise level.

§ The employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.

§ The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.

§ Must present and maintain a positive, professional attitude, and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees while performing the duties.
