Positions Details

PT position (10 -16 hours/week) working 4:55 - 7 pm OR 10:15am – 2pm. Must be able to work every other weekend and alternating holidays. You could be scheduled to work a split shift on weekends and holidays. Wage is $10/hour and one free meal per shift plus other benefits.
  • Sets tables in dining room for meal service, using proper place settings
  • Sets up and prepares food items as required
  • Stocks food and beverage items as needed
  • Studies menu for the meal to assure that all items are available and can be communicated to the residents
  • Checks for menu changes, specials, and special requests. Checks station to make certain that all items required are available
  • Cleans off chairs, checks floor for cleanliness and that condiments are full and containers are clean
  • Assists residents requiring assistance as requested
  • Greets guests, informs them of specials and changes; answers questions; makes suggestions
  • Takes food and beverage orders and relays to the kitchen; assists resident with getting items from the buffet line; serves courses from kitchen and service area promptly and with proper presentation
  • Processes resident orders to ensure items are prepared properly and served on a timely basis; observes residents and coordinates station to provide resident satisfaction
  • Removes dishes after meal, cleans and sanitizes tables, chairs, service areas, and resets for next meal
  • Maintains a positive, outgoing and friendly attitude throughout service and while interacting with residents and coworkers
  • Follows guidelines for uniforms, hair, cleanliness, and food handling
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Education and/or Equivalent Experience
  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
  • Able to read, write, and speak English
  • Able to perform basic arithmetic calculations
  • Willing to work cooperatively as a member of the kitchen/dining staff team, and be able to respond to verbal instructions and directions
  • Enjoy working with senior adults and be willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Be patient, pleasant and understanding in relating to the residents and staff
