The Retirement Plan Manager is responsible for all aspects of Defined Benefit Pension Plan administration for the collectively bargained pension plans including audit and compliance. The Retirement Plan Manager thrives in a fast-paced environment and is able to work on various projects simultaneously, requiring strong organizational and time management skills with a keen ability to prioritize workload. The Manager will lead Jeep-UAW and AMC-Union pension plan administration including UAW Pension Board, lead pension plan administration for other formerly negotiated union pension plans and serve on the Pension Subcommittee for UAW negotiations. The Manager will be responsible for daily pension plan administration, including research and data correction for high profile and unusual cases. Will be the interface on a regular basis with auditors for annual pension plan audits and corporate audits, perform and document pension benefit calculations for monthly internal controls and external audits and monitor Pension Administrator vendor activity including vendor compliance with service level agreements, key metrics and ongoing performance reporting. The selected candidate will champion process improvements with third party Pension Administrator and be the SME for Pension Administrator for administration issues. Be responsible for research and draft second level ERISA appeals and hardship responses; work with UAW Pension Board to approve/deny as required, ensure pension plan(s) are administered in compliance with plan provisions, ERISA and regulatory requirements and collaborate with colleagues on special projects. The Retirement Plan Manager will serve as liaison for OGC, ERISA counsel, and DOL/Government agencies for plan issues, review and approve over/underpayment calculations, audit credited service records and adjust and be the interface with external auditors including providing plan documentation and benefit calculation reconciliations as well as represent Retirement and Savings during New Hire Orientation, as needed.
