Job Description:

The primary purpose of this position is to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment, machine tool processes, or systems malfunctions and perform remedial action necessary to maintain same according to manufacturer's or other written specifications.

Replace defective or faulty parts and perform repair work or equipment which includes 2-axes movement relative to a spindle, column, another axis or trunnion with tolerances and accuracies required up to .001" and simultaneously utilizing multiple precision instruments. Diagnose, plan, layout, repair, rebuild, and install electrical systems and machine components of a compound nature, involving voltage ratings up to 1,000 according to industry and craft standards.

Responsibilities

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

* High school diploma or training or work experience equivalent to a 2 year technical college program as gained in an industrial environment, or completion of an accredited, indentured apprenticeship.

* Ability to use and understand advanced shop mathematics, drawings, specifications, charts, tables, and handbook formulas, all varieties of precision measuring instruments, together with broad training in the recognized trade or craft

* Requires 3 to 5 years combined electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.

* Experience with repair work and equipment
