About this job

The Procurement Estimator will be responsible for procuring materials, goods, products, and services to support Government related Construction Industry requirements. This may include raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, software, licenses, and other items as needed. Procurement Estimator has the responsibility to know the accepted business purchasing methods and know the purchasing policies and procedures of the organization. It is the responsibility of the Procurement Estimator to conduct all business in accordance first with company policies and procedures and other documented government compliance regulations (i.e., FAR/DFARS).

Duties:

  • Perform conceptual estimates based on limited information
  • Apply unit pricing techniques
  • Prepare construction budgets
  • Establish and maintain budget control over trades during estimating and pre-construction phases of the project
  • Provide value engineering solutions including cost/schedule implications
  • Provide estimating input on projects at various stages of design development
  • Prepare purchase orders in CostPoint

Experience:

  • Construction Industry experience desired
  • Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of direct related experience. Additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
  • At least 5 years' experience preparing bid proposals, based upon labor & material costs, in Federal and/or commercial projects up to $50M
  • Experience working in a Government environment and working knowledge of FAR and DFAR
  • Knowledge of current cost trends in military construction is required
  • Deltek/Costpoint experience
