Description
Role Purpose:

Under general supervision prepare hot and cold foods in amanner that is acceptable to all state and local regulations.

Responsibilities:
    • Prepare food items in a timely fashion, following prescribed recipes, and production schedule. Test foods and take appropriate action to correct deficiencies. Check for doneness and taste.
    • Consult with Food Services Supervisor regarding use of leftovers.
    • Observe infection control practices at all times. (labeling, storing, cooling, reheating, hand hygiene)
    • Maintain kitchen in a neat and organized manner.
    • Measure and mixes ingredients according to approved recipes using blenders, food processors, mixers, slicers, food scales and measuring utensils.
    • Maintain accurate records: production, food temperature logs and thermometer calibration.
    • Support tray line and cafeteria line with more product as requested during service periods. Provide service as needed.
    • Work the patient tray line, plate foods according to menu, follow quality and patient satisfaction standards.
    • Consult the clinical dietitian on modified diets as necessary.
    • Perform other related duties as directed thatcorrespond to the overall function of this position.
    Qualifications
    MinimumQualifications:
    • Upon completion of department orientation, mustdemonstrate mastery of skills, procedures, and duties required of the position.Must demonstrate capability to read, follow instructions, and use basicmathematics skills. Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and inwriting.
    PreferredQualifications:
    • High school diploma or GED preferred.
    • Previous experience in hospital food preparationpreferred.
