The Technical Service Representative provides leadership and technical support for projects and project teams to support sales growth for the Casting Lubricants business. This position works closely with assigned technical service staff to support business opportunities and competitive takeovers for a variety of casting lubricant technologies. Additionally, this role will provide proven technical expertise and training to internal/external customers.

 

What we offer

 

Account Technical Management -- customer visits with written follow-up, provide technical assistance for new product/system start-ups, changeovers, audits, and problems. Review and post all line data and audit results. Complete call reports, process and equipment audits. Provide coverage at customer facilities as required. Initiate corrective actions and countermeasures when necessary. Interfaces with plant-level customer. Problem Solving -- resolve customer problems quickly, expand and use knowledge in technical and scientific areas to resolve unfamiliar problems. Master analytical tools, techniques, and skills to interpret and draw proper conclusions and effective countermeasures. Generate comprehensive technical and project reports. Ensure technical best practices are developed and used.Project Management and Laboratory Submittals -- Handling customer requests in a timely manner, complete staff and lab projects, and participate in team task force projects. Assemble and present detailed technical presentations.

Qualification:

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Metallurgy required.

  • 1+ years of relevant experience in organic chemistry or lubricants.

  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills necessary.

  • The ability to think and work under minimal supervision is essential.

  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to drive multiple large projects.

  • Up-to-date computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook

  • Approximately 35% travel required.
