Solution Delivery Project Manager II

The Solution Delivery Project Manager is accountable for managing projects across the TJX North America Selling and Payments team. The PM will ensure that all assigned projects are managed in accordance to TJX standards, processes and best practices. This will include but is not limited to following the TJX project request and intake processes, managing project estimation, timelines, resources, budgets, artifacts, issues and risks and communications. A primary goal is to complete these projects with quality, on time and on budget.

Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for delivering new capabilities that drive business results on one or more medium to large sized, moderately to highly complex IT projects and/or programs from initialization through project close.
  • Accountable for project financials, including baselines, forecasting, reporting, and reconciliation.
  • Leads projects through the defined solution delivery process.
  • Effectively partners and influences in order to deliver saleable, optimized solutions
  • Leads project and/or program activities , recommends solution approach to projects during initialization phase.
  • Responsible for creating and communicating detailed status reporting and ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and meet business requirements
  • Assigns priorities for and coordinates the activities of project staff.
  • Defines project quality and success criteria. Performs peer document assessments and reviews
  • Supervises multiple, concurrent tasks and properly assesses priorities of assigned activities.
  • Responsible for creating, monitoring, tracking and reporting detailed project plans, including work breakdown structure, and identified critical path.
  • Responsible for timely and effective project communications including stakeholder and sponsor interactions, meeting management, and reporting.
  • Creates strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Manages project change control process with all parties (IT & Business) ensuring that any requested changes to scope are reviewed to assess impact on schedule, cost and resources.
  • Ensure that all TJX standards are met including Sarbanes Oxley and PCI.
  • Plans and schedules project deliverables, goals and milestones.
  • Directs and oversees project team.
  • Identifies and solves project issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge:
  • Strong organizational, presentation and business partnering skills.
  • Knowledge of system development life cycle methodology and project management techniques.
  • Familiarity with front and back of house retail store systems.
  • Ability to multi-task and alter direction easily to accommodate changing priorities.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability assess project health at defined stage gates and provide critical analysis to support the decision to proceed or not to proceed with the project.
  • Experience with MS Project, MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Excellent facilitation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding, and fluid environment.
Minimum Experience/Education
  • 5 years project/program management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in technology, information systems, business, engineering or equivalent.
  • PRINCE2 or PMP Certification or equivalent preferred
