The StaRN program is a 12 - 14 week PAID Nurse Residency program.
It will prepare new RN graduates with the training and skills to successfully kick start their careers in an acute care environment.
Starting rate of pay for non-critical care is $24.87 and critical care pays $25.81 an hour.
StaRN learners will receive one year worth of credit upon completion of the program and any additional credit for other previous healthcare experience, including, but not limited to: C.N.A., Monitor Tech, Unit Secretary, etc..

Units that typically hire StaRN residents include, but are not limited to: * Medical Surgical * Oncology * Ortho * Neuro * Progressive / Transitional Care * Stepdown * ICU 2018 StaRN schedule is as follows: March 26, 2018 April 23, 2018 May 21, 2018 June 25, 2018 July 30, 2018 August 20, 2018 September 24, 2018 October 29, 2018 December 3, 2018 Part 1: StaRN Training – First 5 to 6 Weeks (depending on specialty): * Instructor-led classroom training * State-of-the-art simulation including comprehensive debriefs * Self-directed / on-line learning * BLS/ACLS training and certification * NIH Stroke Scale training and certification * CPI training and certification * Meditech Training and Validation Typical schedule is Monday - Friday, 8am – 5pm Part 2: StaRN Clinical Preceptorship – Next 6 to 14 Weeks (depending on specialty): * Conducted at the hospital on the hired unit * You will be assigned a preceptor to help train and get you acclimated to your RN role * Ongoing development meetings between the resident, preceptor and their Director * Customized coaching/onboarding report for clinical preceptorship Typical schedule is 3 x 12 hour shifts at the hospital Part 3: HCA Residency Program – Remainder of your 1st year * Upon successful completion of the StaRN Program, residents will transition to their full-time roles at the hospital * All residents pay rates will increase to the 1 year RN hourly rates (plus any additional credit for previous qualified healthcare experience) * Nurse Residents continue professional development through routine interactions with a mentor (meet at least once a month) * Attend a monthly residency seminar to continue education and career development * Complete an evidence-based capstone project Military Info& Eligibility: HCA is dedicated to hiring our American Heroes and bringing those iconic military branch values and work ethic to join our teams and provide care to our communities while ensuring our military and their families' success in the civilian work sector.
Qualified Active Duty Military, Reserves or Veteran / Spouse of Active Duty Military, Reserves or Veteran (Registered Nurse, Certified Surgical Technicians and Paramedic) recruits will be eligible for a sign-on bonus when hired to join our HCA team of caregivers.
Minimum of 1 year RN experience, or equivalent calculated experience, in military or civilian setting required.
Preferred Military experience: Navy Hospital Corpsman, 66 Series Army Nurse/Medic, Coastguard Health Services Technician, Airforce 46 series Nurse or 4XXXX Series Enlisted Medical.
