Wholesale Produce Packer - Part-time

Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative is a nonprofit organic farmers’ cooperative of over 100 farmers in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. We focus on creating healthy, high-quality foods from our highly maintained and enriched soils on our small scale family farms. LFFC serves all of Eastern Pennsylvania, New York City, and most of the tri state area by connecting the farmer and customer, delivering the best local organic produce, value added products, and humanely raised and pastured animal products to retail establishments, co-ops, restaurants, and institutions.

Summary
This is second shift position (hours start between 2 & 4 p.m. working 8 hours (or until the work is done). These are seasonal positions starting at part time (25 hours or less). As the season is underway, the possibility remains of obtaining 40 work hours.

Duties/Responsibilities:
•    Accurately selecting/pulling customer orders using electric pallet jack
•    Attention to detail to ensure correct item and quantity are selected
•    Proper handling of product to eliminate damage and shrink
•    Proper pallet building and wrapping
•    Maintain and adhere to food safety policies and practices
•    Sort, grade and pack produce into trays, bags or boxes ensuring product quality and package appearance meet customer requirements
•    Safely, accurately and efficiently perform primary job function determined by work assignment which may include: Loading outbound trucks, general dock work (pallet breakdown, restacking); perform final check and secure inside dock door
•    Follow safe work practices, and maintain a safe work area
•    Work collaboratively with all warehouse team members

Requirements:
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced, refrigerated environment
•    Preferred ability to drive both forklift and electric pallet jack. Certification tests required.
•    Must be able to lift 60 + lbs. repetitively
•    Ideally previous warehouse experience
•    Strong attention to detail
•    Ability to work flexible work week and weekend hours
•    Reliable and punctual
