Are you one that doesn't mind handling the day-to-day information technology operations for a high-volume retailer? Do you take a very systematic approach to helping others with system questions and able to research and provide solutions? Victra is Verizon's largest retail partner. As a Systems Administrator, you will work to oversee the core network, server, and security systems for our network of stores nationwide. You will also focus on maximum uptime and operation of systems.

 

YOUR FOCUS (Responsibilities and Duties):

Taking the initiative on systems support and providing guidance to all end users is nothing new to you. In fact, you enjoy training other departments and answering technology related questions. As a Junior Systems Administrator, you will also complete regular backups and perform data recovery and minimize downtime, and help to prevent data corruption. We will also look to you to also:

  • Manage the active directory domain and related services. This will include group policy management, organization, and troubleshooting of core domain services.
  • Oversee the Microsoft Exchange environment for functionality and stability.
  • Administer the company phone platform, including operation and consistency
  • Serve as the highest technical escalation point for IT Services Department and assist IT Director in systems planning
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and new and improved processes and systems
  • Coordinate implementation of system changes, upgrades, and modifications according to business needs
  • Work closely with stores and corporate office on and systems related questions and needs
  • Other job related duties as assigned

YOUR BACKGROUND (Skills and Experience)

You have excellent listening and relationship building skills. You also understand that working with diverse personalities is a must to be successful in any role. We are also looking for the Junior Systems Administrator to bring the following:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in an IT or Systems Administration discipline from an accredited four-year college or university
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in System Administration with relevant technologies
  • Previous experience within wireless retail, technical services, telecom or similar technology preferred
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, identifying problems, and solving independently

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
