Support the Regional senior management team by (i) performing corporate secretary duties and activities including managing all corporate and state corporate registrations, foreign qualifications, DBA's, business permits and other corporate matters, (ii) assuming responsibility for creating and managing the regions airport permits/licenses and leased property portfolio to ensure all contractual requirements fulfilled, (iii) work with the regional Environmental team to establish compliance processes for ensuring all Environmental registrations are recorded and managed, and (iv) perform other compliance functions as required.
Review of standard documentation received from the (i) Americas commercial team in support of business winning or renewals, (ii) Procurement team in relation to supplier contracts, and (iii) other regional Management as required; and to support these teams in ensuring all legal obligations fulfilled in the performance and operation of these contracts.
Support the in-house legal team and external counsel in the management of legal issues to ensure they are managed in a timely and appropriate manner
Report to Group Head of Legal based in Edinburgh any potential legal risks to ensure effective decision making to reduce risk exposure and secure best possible results for Menzies. Undertake limited legal analysis and generally low to medium complexity and/or risk research under supervision
Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Paralegal training and certification required, preferably from an ABA accredited institution. Minimum Diploma (2 years or more) Experience
Minimum of 3 years of work experience within relevant field (e.g. paralegal in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department) Experience of corporate, employment, property and environmental law
Proficient in computer PC skills, including but not limited to MS Office including: Outlook, Word, Excel, and the Internet
Excellent research and writing skills
Analytical and organizational skills
Strong organization, human relation and communication skills
Notary a plus
