Lot Operations Function Manager - Full-time

General Responsibilities

The airports are busy locations dealing with several hundred/thousand transactions in a day. Every Manager has a role to play in ensuring their contribution enables the whole operation to work efficiently to deliver the best customer service, and one of the key components to this is having the right cars , clean cars, and in the right place at the right time. This is essential to the smooth operation of the whole location and ultimately the impact on customer service. Hertz has high expectations that all managers will be effective leader coaches.

The Ultimate Choice Lot Manager (UCLM) actively ensures that the Gold, Five Star, and President’s Choice zones are operated in a smooth efficient manner by ensuring on-site vehicle transportation, stalling and slotting process are completed in a timely manner with strict adherence to the current replenishment model. Based on a clear understanding of the lot vehicle inventory the UCLM will oversee the flow of vehicles from IR to VSA to stalling keeping the appropriate flow to ensure a proper mix of vehicles for each zone based on the volume of customers. The UCLM will establish the demand requirements for VSA work flow including designating the type of vehicles required for processing to meet the needs.

To be a great UCLM you need:

• An ability to lead and manage all aspects of the Ultimate Choice replenishment model and ensure that clean and prepared cars are ready for rental
• An ability to understand the movement and flow of vehicles from IRR to VSA to Maintenance as needed, and to Ultimate Choice zones
• The ability to analyze and to understand the impact of hourly reservations on the replenishment model and the ability to make adjustments throughout the day
• A deep desire to be innovative by being able to spot trends and develop creative solutions that improve overall operations and drives both quality and revenue
• A desire to work with a wide variety of functions and the ability to influence others work and behaviors

Mandatory Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree is preferred (Associate level is accepted), but someone who is able to demonstrate the requisite behaviors and with the right level of experience (below) will also be considered.

Professional Experience:

An operational background in car rental a is important to understand the logistics at a location., but a logistics background in a closely aligned field will be considered. Attitude and the right behaviors are more important, as there is a need to work closely with other function managers and strongly influence their operation and prioritization. Additionally, you will need to be capable to manage in a tough, fast moving operation. Previous experience of working in a unionized environment would also be an advantage.

• Strong management, communications, interpersonal relationship, customer service, problem solving, fleet management, and sales skills
• Strong strategic planning and analytical skills including the ability to forecast demand and utilization
• Strong logistic ability to understand fleet movement
