About this job

The host is a personal representation of the service, culture, and overall hospitality of the restaurant. While guests are waiting to be seated, it is the job of the host to ensure that the guests are made comfortable and kept informed of the status of their wait times.  The host monitors the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables, estimates wait times for guests, monitors the guest waiting list, and ensures that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting. The host is often responsible for answering the telephone and managing reservations as well as assisting the floor staff in clearing and arranging tables if needed.

 

Food runners assist servers and deliver food to our guests, providing exceptional hospitality to those dining with us.  Since they are the last ones to look at the dish before presenting to a customer, it is of the utmost importance that our runners are knowledgeable about plate presentation.  They may be required to answer questions about the cuisine and about the restaurant while serving the food.  Runners are also required to perform some secondary tasks such as cleaning tables, bussing tables, filling glasses, at times taking orders and even assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining their work areas. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively; reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds; work in a standing position for long periods of time; and have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.  This position requires candidates who are personable, engaging, organized, and composed.  The ability to write fluently, take and follow instructions in both verbal and written forms, and to have basic assessment and math skills to estimate wait times for guests.

 

A minimum of 1 year of experience (upscale dining preferable)

 

Vidrio is a dinner only concept.  Candidates must be available to work evenings, nights and weekends.
