Administrative Assistant - Technical Writer - Full-time / Part-time

This technical writer will be expected to learn and understand the workings of inspection/drilling in order to work on reports for inspections being done. All of these functions will be taught but the candidate will be expected to learn these and run with all edits/revisions that are required to be made within these reports.

A day in the life of this person is getting reports from different engineering departments and making corrections, editing, rewording and rewriting parts of reports, typing and sending final drafts to department heads before then sending these reports to the final clients. The CMT and drilling teams are bringing field/lab reports and filing them for the tech writers and then the tech writer is making these revisions. They need to be able to type quickly (40-80 words per minute) in order to clean up reports to submit to clients.

We will train an individual on all of the aspects of our business and the reports.

We are a Professional Engineering and Consulting company offering Geotechnical, Environmental, and Hydrogeological Services in addition to Construction Materials Testing and Inspection Services from offices in Ferndale, Michigan. This individual will be working ONLY within the Construction Materials Testing and Inspecting division within this company.
