Medical Assistant (Back Office)

Medical Assistant Summary

Performs all medical assistant responsibilities as requested in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Verifies accurate chart prep before patient visit.

Brings patient from lobby into the appropriate exam room.

Accurately updates and records patient medications, allergies, pharmacies, risk factors, social history and family history in patient chart upon each visit.

Obtains vital signs.

Maintains supply inventory in exam rooms.

Attends all mandatory staff meetings.

Maintains a professional and courteous environment.

Maintains strict patient and employee confidentiality.

Qualifications

MA diploma (from Medical Assistant program) required.

Current BLS certification preferred.

Must be able to type at least 40 wpm.

High School diploma or GED.

Two years previous MA experience preferred.

Experience performing manual blood pressure checks is also required.

Preference will be given to candidates familiar with common cardiology medications

Prefer candidates with EMR experience (Nextgen system)

Shift and Schedule

Monday - Friday. Hours of operation are 7:00am-5:30pm

This position will work either:

Four 10-hour shifts OR three 10-hour shifts + two 5-hour shifts (7am-12pm OR 12:30pm-5:30pm over 2 days)
