Great company in Florence has a temp to hire opportunity for a General Maintenance Technician to join their team Mon-Fri 8a-5p. Pay ranges form $13.75-16.00/hr depending on experience. Has good benefits and very positive company culture.
General Maintenance
Summary: We are looking for a reliable, fulltime employee to perform essential maintenance & upkeep tasks throughout our facilities. In this position, you will be responsible for a wide variety of activities such as repairs and cleaning to ensure that our facilities are both tidy and functional. Being reliable and self-motivated with a keen eye for detail is essential in this job, as well as having the physical stamina necessary for this work.
Primary Responsibilties:
Performs basic carpentry, electric, and plumbing repair as necessary
Make light mechanical repairs and/or facility improvements as requested
Maintain safety and appearance of building exterior, interior, walkways, and grounds
Maintain all building lighting systems and fire/exit signs (to meet fire and safety codes)
Assist with grounds maintenance and yard upkeep.
Communicate to manager, issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress
Collaborate and work with other professionals during renovations and facility improvements/expansions.
Performs generalist maintenance & custodial tasks throughout facilities, both inside and outside
· Stock and maintain water in all refrigerators in Balluff buildings.
· Maintain orderliness/cleanliness of common areas in Balluff buildings.
· Spot clean floors and windows (inside & out) as needed.
· Conduct weekly inventory counts of kitchen and bathroom supplies in order to maintain stock appropriately.
· Order & maintain appropriate inventory of pop and snacks for vending machines. Fill machines as necessary.
· Water all potted plants, inside & out, weekly
· Deliveries and errands, as needed.
Assist other employees in the accomplishment of their assigned responsibility, as requested.
Qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent;
· Minimum of one year of practical experience in a general maintenance role, preferably in a corporate environment.
· Basic math skills.
· Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools
· Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems helpful
· Ability to read and use technical manuals and drawings
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Physical demands:. 50 pound lifting requirement. Some heavier lifting will be required. Must have valid driver’s license and be able to drive flat-bed truck. Ability to climb ladders and work out of aerial lifts.
