Pharmacy Technician - Specialty Pharmacy
Job Responsibilities
- Review order list and create daily workload; match compounded products against outgoing orders.
- Effectively use pharmacy computer system to create and review formula logs as well as print, labels, worksheets, and manage inventory.
- Use proper compounding and labeling techniques emphasizing pharmaceutical elegance when making medications.
- Maintain product inventory by reordering materials/products necessary for compounding processes.
- Properly clean work area and equipment upon completion of daily compounding.
- Correctly use equipment necessary for preparing compounded products.
- Select proper packaging for compounded products i.e. correct bottle size, tube size, etc.
- Understand and locate Material Safety Data Sheet "MSDS" guidelines for maintaining safety and managing safety events.
- Locate and demonstrate general knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures "SOP's".
- Use proper garbing techniques in accordance with SOP guidelines.
- Effectively prepare and organize all compounded products for pharmacist review.
- Thorough understanding of USP 795 guidelines

Specific Specialty Compounding Pharmacy Technician requirements:
- Area: Ability to work in the Overland Park, Kansas area
- Licensure requirements: Must have valid, open and active Kansas Pharmacy Technician license.
- Education : High School Diploma, Certified Pharmacy Technician and PTCB
- Years of experience: 1+ year(s) of recent closed door specialty experience
- Schedule: Day 7a-3:30p, Day 9a-5p, Night 3p - 11p, Night 7p - 7am
- Length of Assignment: Temp to hire, Immediate consideration.
- Pay: $15-$18/ Hr. DOE
- Background/drug requirements: Ability to successfully complete background check, client health screening criteria and drug screen
