Position Purpose:

 

District support position to provide strong leadership, direction, and ensure execution of all Petco Pet Services expectations. Shared responsibility and accountability for achieving the required financial results. Ensure uncompromising standards and the highest level of Pet Services are being provided consistently in all our stores. Leverage support center resources and regional management to lead and direct the required guest, partner, and financial experiences and targets to be achieved. Collaborates with Field Management, Services Support, and the CMO to influence and ensure agreed upon Pet Services outcomes are achieved.

 

Essential Job Functions: The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation. 

  • Partner with both store teams and District to recruit, interview, staff, train and retain all partners within services.

  • Own the Grooming Salon Leader development process.  With collaboration from key support areas, design, implement, and continuously improve all GSL’s ability to holistically lead their salon in a manner that delivers our Salon Customer Promise in a high and repeatable level, as well as, deliver the financial expectations for their business.

  • In partnership with RPSD and DL, create and gain alignment on monthly market area strategies, focused on district sales performance, profitability, productivity, and staffing. Partner with DL and RPSD for regular store visits to support, achieve, and be accountable for overall district and regional goals.

  • Analyze guest, sales, and cost of sales data, make recommendations to District Leader based on analysis.  Oversee the development of the appropriate course of action to capitalize on the opportunities within their district. Heavy emphasis on recruiting, staffing, and training. 

  • Communicate and clarify targets to District Leader and store teams.

  • Co-lead district services staffing action meetings with RPSD.  Ensure all commitments by support and field staff are met.

  • Co-lead with DL district services sales, margin, and productivity action meetings with VPRO and RPSD.  Ensure all commitments by support and field staff are met.

  • Partner in the research, evaluation, and the development of new and existing business opportunities that will lead to increased sales and profit in Pet Services.

  • Drive the implementation of Pet Services sales programs and initiatives related to Grooming, Dog Training, Vetco and Wellness services.

  • Provide subject matter expertise to DL and store partners for the implementation and execution of services objectives in their areas.

  • Leverage the Grooming Promoter program to instill a sense of pride and ownership of delivering exceptional services experiences to all guests.

  • Develop and oversee the regional Services maintenance capital and expense planning to ensure all customer touch points are brand correct, partner and animal safety standards are maintained, and Services productivity is optimized.

  • Provide influential guidance and coaching to store partners and District Leaders relating to the flawless execution of Pet Services standards and expectations across the district.

Supervisory Responsibility :

 

This job is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of established programs, policies and procedures by influencing the actions of others directly involved and related to Pet Services.  Flawless execution of all Pet Services is the expectation. Financial success metrics defined in annual goals.

 

Work Environment:

 

The majority of job duties are performed while indoors at various store locations.  Exposure to hazards is minimal if appropriate safety procedures are followed when handling equipment, products and animals. Approximately 80% of the time (4 days per week) requires regular travel throughout assigned area. 

 

Education/Experience:

 

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.  Will consider directly related experience in lieu of education. Fifteen years progressively responsible retail experience is required including five to seven years of previous progressively responsible retail management experience.  Excellent interpersonal, customer service and analytical skills are required.  Basic familiarity with Microsoft office products necessary.
