As a Lead Garde Manger Cook, you will

  • Carefully and safely prepare food according to the Event Order, or chef direction and ensure that the entire Garde Manger Staff does what is necessary to ensure that all food is portioned correctly and presented appealingly.
  • The Lead Garde Manger Cook is responsible to ensure food safety for the entire department, by training, and inspecting that proper dating and rotating of food containers, safe storing of perishables, and continual maintaining a sanitary work environment is done by the entire Garde Manger team.
  • Check pars for shift use, ensuring that correct amounts are pulled for prep and noting items that need replenishment.
  • Do your part to stay within budget by taking steps to control food waste, loss and usage, and by ensuring that labor is used as efficiently as possible.

Fundamentals

A high school education or equivalent education is helpful, with a minimum of three-years food service or related culinary experience required. The ability to operate, maintain and properly clean culinary equipment is expected. This position requires full mobility and the ability to lifting, carrying and pulling up to 40 pounds.
