Job Description
Candidates will have electrical assembly responsibilities in the shop when not on the road. Expected to travel 2 weeks per month on average and could possibly be less or more depending on the business needs. Assembly duties would include soldering and interpreting electrical schematics. In the field the candidate should expect to replace sensors and complete repairs on them as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Assemble, test complex electromechanical products and/or circuit card assemblies using engineering drawings and manufacturing work instructions
- Provide field installation, maintenance, troubleshooting/repair and on-site customer training support for all Salient Systems products
- Liaise with external customers and internal company departments for product development and relationship-building initiatives
- Work as a team member with peers, engineers, supply chain staff, and management to meet production and engineering design goals
- Work outdoors on railway tracks under a variety of weather conditions
- Travel extensively on a weekly basis throughout North America and occasionally oversees; some weekend travel required
- Overtime hours may be necessary as workloads dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.
- Responsible for managing personal travel expense account, individual or company-supplied mechanics tools and equipment, and company-issued credit cards where applicable
