Our client in Herndon VA is immediately hiring a Loss Mitigation Specialist. Qualified candidates must be willing and able to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance.
Job Qualifications
- 3-4 years experience in a commercial financial services setting.
- Experience applying collection policies, procedures and laws relating to Repossessions, Collections and Credit Bureau activities.
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of loans and documents that relate to collateral recovery.
- Must have a general knowledge of accounting practices and have a good working knowledge of bankruptcy basics and financial counseling.
Job Responsibilities
- Acts as the primary contact with repossession companies, tow agencies, repair shops and auction companies.
- Performs Skip-tracing, utilizing various methods in order to help facilitate the locating of collateral..
- Files all pre-skip, skip claims, repossession damage and CPI claims.
- Compiles data to obtain a floor price for these vehicles at auction.
- Handles posting of the sale check, reviews and pays all invoices from the repossession agent and auction houses. Keeps accurate accounting on all accounts.
- Performs a semi annual on site inspection of all local repossessions on agents lots and auction houses and maintains detailed notes of such.
- Converts Titles to Repossession titles.
- Updates the credit reporting on all repossessions.
