Our client is currently hiring in several departments including upholstery, leather cutter, seamstress and warehouse, and are willing to train. Title: Upholsterer
Pay: $10 - $17 (Depending on Experience) Willing to Train Right Person if No Experience
Hours: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Thursday with Fridays as needed
Location: Dallas, TX
Type: Temp to Perm
Responsibilities
- Use upholstery skills to build sofas, chairs, ottomans and other items
- Fit, install, and secure material on frames, using hand tools, power tools, glue, cement, and/or staples.
- Build furniture up with loose fiber stuffing, cotton, felt, and/or foam padding to form smooth rounded surfaces.
- Make, restore, and/or create custom upholstered furniture, using hand tools and knowledge of following sketches and design specifications.
- Inspect Furniture before it is touched up
- Keep designated racks filled with cushions – clean and organized
- Maintain the central upholstery area clean
- Other duties may be assigned
Requirements
- Tufting, cutting and sewing experience a plus
- Will train right person if no experience
- Knowledge of furniture upholstery
- Experience with hand and machine sewing
- High school diploma or GED
- Able to learn quickly and follow instructions accurately
- Able to Understand, Read & Write English is preferred
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Able to stand 10 hours per day
- Background check and drug screen will be administered
