POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE:

CashierJOB DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

• Greets guests and takes orders properly.  Must be able to listen attentively and communicate, both verbally and in writing, with customers, supervisors and co-workers.
• Displays a very outgoing and enthusiastic attitude.
• Uses Suggestive Selling and Up-Selling techniques.
• Insures prompt and courteous service to all guests while maintaining a pleasant personality and appearance.
• Is knowledgeable of the menu and portion sizes to assist guest needs.
• Knows the keyboard to ensure accuracy and speed.
• In the Drive Thru, checks that all the orders are correctly assembled, adding the appropriate condiments and utensils.
• Repeats order back to customer prior to telling them to drive up to window.
• Maintains work areas clean, organized and properly stocked at all times.
• Is knowledgeable and practices all safety procedures.
• Inspects products and stocks them according to company procedure.
• Follows all food safety guidelines while working with food.
• Works within all company policies, procedures and standards.

  SAFETY PRACTICES:

• Ensures equipment is in good working condition.
• Uses aprons, cut resistant gloves, non-slip shoes.

  PHYSICAL:

• Occasional lifting of bags and boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.  There is heavy cleaning involved.  Prolonged periods of standing, walking, reaching, bending, cutting.

  REQUIREMENTS

• Taco Cabana Employees only:  Must be 18 years or older (Alcoholic Beverage Commission requirements).
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish is preferred. High school diploma or GED equivalent desired. Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money accurately.
• Basic knowledge of the functions of cash registers preferred.
