Job Overview:   The Technical Designer is responsible for instituting technical/fit expertise for the Product/Design teams they support. The Technical Designer is responsible translating flat sketch designs into 3-dimensional product. Achieve optimal cost, fit, quality and construction with precision engineering while maintaining design aesthetics and integrity for bulk production. Perform other duties as assigned.    IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE   He/she will be known as a trusted, collaborative and results-oriented partner to the Private Brands Overseas, Design and Product teams. The ideal candidate needs to be comfortable and effective leading through complex situations and have the ability to influence business partners. Candidates must be comfortable with quickly evaluating and sun-setting legacy approaches that no longer align to the strategy.   The successful candidate will: • Have ability to set and to deliver on a strategic category vision that aligns to the North Star Strategy. • Make “company first” decisions • Size growth opportunities and edit for clarity • Reduce complexity, act decisively, model agility in leadership style • Have the temperament to lead and motivate the teams • Have solid understanding and focus on the digital experience and technology business drivers • Communicate with candor and value open debate to ensure the best ideas come to life • Focus on developing leaders and teams    Essential Functions:   • Fosters open communication in Team environment with all Business Partners • Provide fit consistency, quality and workmanship to ensure Brand Integrity • Lead fit sessions, adhere to fit protocol and drive the fit approval process • Communicate fit corrections via pattern sketch or directly on patterns • Update and maintain seasonal pattern/block library • Ability to identify production, quality and costing issues and to make technical recommendations • Benchmark our fit and quality standards against competitors to ensure best in class fit • Adhere to Brand Calendar ensuring seasonal deadlines are met • Ensure adherence to the Fit Model Budget • Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.   Qualifications:   Education/Experience:   • College Degree in related field of study. • 5-8 years’ experience in Technical Design. • Expertise in patternmaking, grading, garment construction and fit and how it applies to costing and manufacturing. • Knowledge of PLM, PDM, MS Word, MS Excel and Adobe Illustrator   Communication Skills:   • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.   Mathematical Skills:   • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and analytical skills.   Reasoning Ability:   • Ability to proactively trouble shoot, problem solve and effectively influence   Physical Demands:   • This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking. • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. • May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.  • Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. • May involve moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.   Other Skills:   • Strong analytical skills • Detail oriented with strong organizational capabilities & time management skills • Strong interpersonal skills to support a Team environment • Overseas Factory travel experience a plus   Leadership Profile   • Dynamic and passionate about our work. • Inspirational leader that has proven followership. • Comfortable with taking risks and celebrating risk taking regardless of outcome. • Able to retain focus on vision and outcomes, letting others make decisions. • Create an engaging collaborative culture both within Technical Design and also outside the office with all cross functional partners. • Resilient, tenacious, high energy.
