Description

JOB SCOPE & PURPOSE

The Vice President, Delivery will manage overall client satisfaction, project delivery, resource planning and management for a portfolio of technology oriented direct marketing clients and database marketing system production operation. He/she owns the technical and strategic deliverables of an organization that is dedicated to developing marketing technology solutions for one or more specific business verticals. He/she will ensure acceptable project management practices and the proper change control of key project assets, i.e. requirements, product specifications, contracts, product code, documentation, etc. Successful candidates must be able to understand the overall solution (i.e., components, operation processes, etc.), its value to the client and be involved in the many details of the project.

The Vice President, Delivery is a central client contact, providing regular status updates, managing change requests and communicating any solution issues/impacts. Motivating and developing team members and communicating expectations to project members is crucial to project success. He/she is responsible for solution architecture decisions and is involved in translating corporate objectives into relevant tangible goals for their team then determining, capturing, and reporting the lead and lag measures throughout the organization. A large part of this role is to seek out new opportunities and projects across the client organization to grow the business.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

General Administration

• Meets client commitments on-time and provides high quality client centric service

• Maintains a high quality technology solution as evidenced by solution audits and results

• Identifies solution improvements and efficiency to benefit clients and Targetbase, communicates changes with client/team and manages the implementation of changes within the production schedule

• Effectively coordinates resources external to direct team. Collaborates with project leads to ensure that resource and revenue forecasts are aligned and that project hours forecast during sales process are tracking with actuals. Manages open requisitions and shift resources across projects as needed. Validate input to resource forecasting tools.

• Understands, develops and implements strong program management practices (Change Requests, Issue Management, Risk Management, and Decision Tracking) and champions them within the organization


Sales and Proposal Support (“New - Existing”)

• Ability to reach across a client organization and discover new opportunities for growth (i.e. new brands within a pharmaceutical company, expanding from a physician based solution to a consumer solution, adding a prospecting database to an existing customer solution)

• Ability to be strategic from a technology perspective and engage in consultative relationships with hopes of driving additional business.

• Understanding of all business units and solutions


People Management and Mentoring

• Identifies resource/technical needs and is able to construct case for acquiring the resource/technical need

• Provides feedback regarding shared resource(s) performance


Knowledge

• Solid understanding of relational database concepts, exposure to SQL

• Understanding of Targetbase financial processes (billing, invoicing, financial planning, reporting , PO processes etc. at a client level)

• Understanding of Targetbase full service offerings

• Understanding of common IT offering

• Understanding of CRM and Database marketing solutions

• Experience successfully managing production clients

  1. Quality and overall impact of deliverables: Strives to improve executional excellence of the project leads. Establishes a system that strives for a 99.9% perfection rate on quality while achieving 90% on time deliveries within the allotted project budgets. Measures and recommends actions to improve performance of all scope management, financial management, timing, and execution on all client engagements.
  2. Team and/or client feedback and satisfaction: Manages morale by ensuring a reasonable work-life balance for operations staff. Manages the process of ongoing operations to achieve a positive satisfaction rating with internal and external clients.
  3. Commitment to vision and guiding principles of agency and competency: Manages the project management system against the vision that has been set at the corporate level; this is demonstrated by the delivery of solutions that are aligned to the corporate vision
  4. Organizational and/or technical knowledge: Has appropriate knowledge of his/her core competency and Targetbase's integrated service offerings. Ensures a positive, collaborative work environment that leverages the strengths of all core competencies.


REQUIRED SKILLS

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in business, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.

• 10+ years relevant experience including client facing duties

• 7+ years of experience with software implementations from requirements through design, development and client acceptance using Microsoft technologies (.net, asp.net, VB.NET and/or C# required, Visual Studio.NET 2010 experience desired, XML, web services,) and testing the software.

• 7+ years of experience in relational database design utilizing Oracle, administration and support, including OLTP and Warehouse environments

• Familiar with design and development of large-scale applications in parallel computing environment

• 7+ year of demonstrated experience leading teams greater than 20 individuals

• Demonstrated technology background in multiple disciplines (system architecture, programming, system administration, database administration, database design, networking technology)

• Ability to communicate advanced technical concepts to non-technical audiences

• A deep understanding of professional consulting services, marketing strategy and technology, and have outstanding client and team leadership skills

• Drive development strategies and key deliverables

• Be a key client advocate internally and externally, anticipating and resolving problems with the client and managing the performance of internal delivery resources

• Develop and conduct strategic and tactical presentations with clients and lead client meetings

• Assemble and lead high-performance delivery teams in account, strategy, technology and analytics

• Familiarity with data hygiene
