Research Associate - Full-time

Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Research Associate for a 6+ month contract opportunity in Arlington, VA with our partner, a private non-profit applied science and technology development company.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Conducts basic engineering analysis of data collected. Performs structured work assignments.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs assignments of a routine degree of complexity by compiling and evaluating design and test data, preparing technical specifications,analyzing technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for product, process or materials specifications.
• Assists in the interpretation of results and writing of small sections of technical reports.
• Candidate must have excellent technical, writing, communications, and research skills.
• Candidate must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Familiarity with standard modeling and statistical software applications is preferred
• At least 1 year of similar work experience (analysis, project support, etc.) is also preferred.
• Completes assigned project work within schedule and budget constraints.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• B.A. in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, or other quantitative field is required.
• B.S. in Operations Research or a closely related field is preferred.
• Candidate must be able to obtain and hold a security clearance at the SECRET level.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to read, write, type, and use a telephone.
• The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
