A large nationally-known research organization, Abt Associates, is seeking for experienced Field Interviewers as well as self-motivated, hard-working, skillful communicators to travel to selected homes and gain participation of respondents.
The interview conducted will support the HPOG Program, established by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (ACA), to fund training in high-demand healthcare professions, targeted to TANF recipients and other low-income individuals. The HPOG Program is administered by the ACF Office of Family Assistance (OFA).
Job Responsibilities:
- Be comfortable knocking on doors in all assigned neighborhoods
- Gain participation of respondents to complete the screening
- Flexible availability to accommodate respondent schedules during daytime, evening, weekend, and weekday hours
- Field Interviewers will report to a remote Field Manager regularly with updates on the progress of assigned sample
- Must be Tablet-Ipad experienced, good locators, skillful communicators, outgoing, willing to knock on doors, and self-motivated.
Job Requirements:
- Must have access to personal, reliable transportation to be used for business purposes
- Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check
- Must be able to work daytime, evening, weekday, and weekend hours
- Must be able to commit a minimum of 20 to 25 hours/week

- Travel frequently to respondent locations
- Be outside and exposed to all types of weather; in summer, heat and humidity, rainstorms, etc.
- Be exposed to fumes and odors as might be expected in any outdoor environment
- Stand, walk, and climb stairs carrying equipment
- Communicate through speech and listening
- Transport and handle equipment and materials, such as a tablet and laptop computer, weighing a combined 15 pounds or more
Training Requirement:
Must be available to attend a 4 day paid training tentatively scheduled for the second week of January 2019, in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area. If Basic training needed, the dates will be 5 instead of 4 days.
