Santaland Support Elf - Part Time Seasonal: Herald Square - Full-time / Part-time

  Job Overview:   The Santaland Elf is an ambassador of Santa Claus charged with helping to spread cheer and goodwill among our visiting Santaland guests.  As an elf, you will be responsible for ensuring a wonderful holiday experience by employing a mix of entertainment and crowd control techniques to maintain the flow of guests passing through Santaland.    Essential Functions:   • Always be in Elf costume (provided by Macy’s) • Direct and expedite guest visits with Santa • Taking photos (on proprietary equipment) • Assist with crowd control while maintaining a cheerful disposition • Perform other duties as needed • Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality   Qualifications:   Education/Experience:   • Crowd control experience with both adults and children required • Customer service experience required • Acting experience preferred   Communication Skills:   • Knowledge of a second language helpful • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to effectively communicate with and direct children   Mathematical Skills:   • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division   Reasoning Ability:   • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment • Present a professional image consistent with Macy's brand values   Physical Demands :   • May involve prolonged standing and walking • May involve lifting heavy objects 30lbs+, including small children   Other Skills:   • Effective communicator • Leadership • Customer Service • Punctuality • Customer Service • Ability to engage and entertain children   Work Hours:   • Flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours which may include day, evening, weekends and/or holidays or sales events depending on business needs   This job description is not all inclusive.
