About this job

We are seeking an experienced CNC set-up machinist  for the milling or lathe department to join the Kenosha, WI team.

Responsibilities:

         Read and write G-Code

         Check posted programs for errors and performance

         Troubleshoot a solution and make the necessary edits to program files

         Setup the machine and operate if safely

         Find part zero

         Make adjustments to offsets, tool lengths, and programs

         Be able to use Holding Fixtures, Soft Jaws, Parallels and other Set Up fixtures and holding devices

         Be able to identify types of machine tools and the proper use of each

         Knowledge of manual mills and lathes and there safe accurate usage

         Fabricate fixtures and other work holding devices

         Hold tolerances as specified on drawings

         Remove workpieces from machines, and check to ensure that they conform to specifications, using measuring instruments such as microscopes, gauges, calipers, and micrometers.

         Observe milling or planning machine operation and adjust controls to ensure conformance with specified tolerances.

         Position and secure workpieces on machines, using holding devices, measuring instruments, hand tools, and hoists.

         Study blueprints, layouts, sketches, or work orders to assess workpiece specifications and to determine tooling instructions, tools and materials needed, and sequences of operations.

         Move controls to set cutting specifications, to position cutting tools and workpieces in relation to each other, and to start machines.

         Compute dimensions, tolerances, and angles of workpieces or machines, according to specifications and knowledge of metal properties and shop mathematics.

         Verify alignment of workpieces on machines, using measuring instruments such as rules, gauges, or calipers.

Qualifications:

         Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with complete set-up and operation of CNC Machining or Turning Centers.

         Able to make edits, offsets, perform tool changes, have knowledge of G-Code, and read blueprints.

         Must have own tools.

Shift, Pay, and Benefits:

         2nd Shift:  3:15P-1:45A- 4-day workweek with possible overtime

         $16/hr.-$21/hr. BOE
