Floral Assistant

Primary Role: To prepare flowers and floral containers for floral designers to complete design work. A floral assistant will also assist designers as needed.

Skills Required:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to speak English.
• Use of floral knife, cutters, etc.
• Tolerance for all-day standing.
• Good communication skills with other team members.
• Willingness to learn and open to new ideas.

Job Duties:

• Processing flowers (Determine if quality of product is good.).
• Cut stems properly as appropriate for type of flower/foliage (i.e., chopper, underwater cutter, knife, etc.).
• Sweeping floors, cleaning buckets.
• Regularly cleaning flower coolers.
• Cleaning vases (glass, silver, brass).
• Restocking shelves with floral supplies.
• Packing flower arrangements for delivery.
• Assisting with event set-ups.
• Prepare buckets with appropriate water/preservative depending on type of flower (i.e., hot water for hydrangea, alcohol for gerbs, powdered preservative for most other).
• Break down boxes.
• Will learn flower prep and LOTS of flower knowledge!

This is a Monday-Saturday position with Sunday and one day during the week off. Operation hours are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, but you may be asked to stay longer.

Required qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• 18 years or older
• Available to work: weekends
• Available to work: weekdays

Preferred qualifications:

• At least high school diploma or equivalent or higher
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Background check
• Able to comfortably lift 30 lbs
• Available to work: overtime
