About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team within our Physician Offices. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing patient care and supporting healthcare providers. You will be the key link between patients, their families, and our medical team, ensuring a smooth and effective healthcare experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and various office procedures.
  • Organize and schedule diagnostic tests, surgical procedures, and pre-admission evaluations.
  • Conduct initial response screenings in accordance with medical protocols.
  • Carry out a range of clinical tests and procedures, including CLIA-waived tests, electrocardiograms, respiratory assessments, and both venipuncture and capillary puncture for blood draws.
  • Prepare and give oral and injectable medications (excluding IVs) and immunizations as directed by physicians, according to state regulations.
  • Administer injections to patients when needed.
  • Facilitate prescription calls to pharmacies based on physician instructions.
  • Act as a communication bridge between physicians, patients, and their families.
  • Uphold Standard Precautions to maintain health and safety standards, including infection control protocols.
  • Collect and properly process various medical specimens.
  • Maintain examination and treatment rooms, including oversight of medical supplies and equipment inventory.
  • Identify and respond effectively to medical emergencies.
  • Record patient information, including medical history and vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations or treatments.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of patient interactions and clinical treatments, including medication and immunization records.
  • Assemble and provide patient information packets.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant designation (CMA or RMA) is required within six months of employment.
  • Qualifying for certification necessitates a minimum of one year of supervised clinical experience within the last three years or completion of a relevant health training program in the past five years.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential.
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques and clinical practices is necessary.
  • Sound understanding of pharmacology and competence in medication administration.
  • Knowledge of administrative practices, patient interaction, and medical ethics is required.
  • Understanding of coding and reimbursement processes, including ICD and CPT, is vital.
  • Ability to analyze clinical data and apply critical thinking skills in decision-making.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Ideal Candidate Profile: We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant with a minimum of two years of experience in a physician office setting. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to patient care.

Required qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in the healthcare industry
  • At least high school diploma or equivalent or higher
  • Medical license/certification: Medical Assitant Certification
