You can earn between: $55,000 - $125,000 annually based on experience (Pay Type: Hourly).

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled plumber to repair and maintain water, sewer, and gas lines in residential housing facilities. This role also includes installing faucets, water heaters, and plumbing fixtures while ensuring compliance with plumbing codes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in residential buildings.
  • Installs new plumbing fixtures in apartments; decides when new fixtures are needed and ensures that they work with the designed layout.
  • Repairs and unclogs sewers, drains, and plumbing fixtures, including toilets, sinks, and bathtubs, ensuring proper disposal of waste and materials.
  • Orders replacement or repair supplies in order to be prepared for routine and unusual plumbing repairs.
  • Installs and repairs water heaters for apartments.
  • Repairs and installs water pipes that have been damaged; tests backflow device to ensure it is working correctly.
  • Repairs and installs gas lines to prevent gas leaks in the building; tests gas lines with gauges to ensure problem has been fixed or has not returned; disconnects and hooks up gas over ranges in apartments.
  • Collaborates with team members to ensure successful project completion on schedule.
  • Provides excellent customer service, ensuring a positive client experience.
  • Maintains tools, equipment, and workspaces in optimal condition.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required along with journeyman-level experience or the completion of an approved apprenticeship program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a plumber specializing in residential, multifamily, and commercial projects.
  • Must possess a registered plumber’s license from the State of North Carolina.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in operating various hand-held tools and devices relevant to plumbing tasks.
  • Solid understanding of plumbing systems, including gas, water, sewer, and heating lines, as well as plumbing codes and safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and apply blueprints, schematics, and specifications is required.
  • Skilled in soldering, work design layout, and using power tools.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook) are necessary, along with the ability to quickly learn additional software programs as needed for the role.

Physical Demands:

  • Employee is frequently required to travel to various properties to oversee maintenance projects.
  • Daily movements include sitting; standing; reaching and grasping; operating computers and other office equipment; moving about the properties; and attending on-site meetings and off-site meetings.
  • Employee must be able to exchange information in person, in writing, and via telephone.
  • Employee must occasionally transport up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Position generally works on properties, which may cause the employee to experience a range in temperatures and other weather conditions. The noise level may be loud and the environment may be more hazardous than a standard office environment. This position may be required to work with contractors as well as residents
  • Employees must have access to 24 hour reliable internet service. Employees must also have reliable transportation to and from work, as well as, to get to and from multiple work locations based on business needs and assignments. Employee is responsible for providing own hand tools.
  • Position may require employees to work occasional overtime, nights, and weekends.
