Marine Electrician - Per Diem

NSC has an urgent need for Marine Electricians ASAP with 3+ years experience for a repair project in Sturgeon Bay, WI.

OFFERING $140 PER DIEM FOR TRAVELERS WITH DOCUMENTATION FOR RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS .

Job Description

• Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, cable, equipment, and systems.
• Inspect and test electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits.
• Utilize hand tools and specialized testing equipment for inspection and maintenance.
• Inspect and test various electrical systems, including lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits.
• Identify defects in electrical systems such as wiring, switches, and motors using specialized tools.
• Replace faulty elements such as switches, sockets, and wiring.
• Dismantle and repair electrical machinery, replacing defective mechanical or electrical components.
• Install motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures and completing circuits according to diagrams.
• Work from technical documentation, including blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
• Place conduit, pipes or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements:

• Must have 3-5+ years of electrical experience, working in a shipyard as a marine electrician preferred
• Responsible for installing and repairing wiring, fixtures, and equipment for all electrical services aboard ship and in shipyard facilities, following blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Must have working knowledge of electrical theory and procedures and the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and install shipboard electrical systems and equipment (600 V and less) in accordance with specifications and drawings.
• Must be able to use all electrical test equipment.
• Basic math skills and ability to use hand and power tools required.
• Proficient in the use of basic electrical meters and test instruments (volt-ohm meter, clamp-on ammeter, insulation resistance testers (mergers, etc.).
• Ability to comprehend complex mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Must possess a good general knowledge of ship repair procedures and test requirements.
• Must be able to comprehend instructions, drawings, and general correspondence.
• Must have a working knowledge of ship repair terminology and ship compartment naming convention.
• Must provide approved US person documentation to access the work site

Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
