Trauma Acute Care Surgeon, Section Head

You will join a team of 28 partners in the multispecialty General Surgery Division, specifically with 9 surgeons dedicated to acute care/trauma services. The division is also comprised of fellowship trained surgeons in colorectal, minimally invasive, bariatric, and hepatobiliary subspecialties. 

Responsibilities include:

• Emergency general surgery, coverage for our Level 1 Trauma Center at Evanston Hospital in Cook County, Level II Trauma coverage at Highland Park Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital and ICU coverage for our surgical patients.
• Oversees Residency and Fellowship Programs through the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
• Teaching opportunities, academic appointment
• Research opportunities are available for interested and qualified candidates. 
• Oversees the Trauma and Acute Care services, team, and operations

What you will need:

• MD/DO
• IL Medical license or pending approval
• DEA license
• BC/BE
• 5+ years of experience preferred
