Norton Childrens Rheumatology, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible leader to serve as chief of Norton Childrens Rheumatology and division chief of the University of Louisville School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics Division of Pediatric Rheumatology. This dual leadership position is integral to advancing pediatric rheumatology care, education and research for both our clinical practice and UofL School of Medicine.

- Be the regions most comprehensive and preferred health care system for pediatric patients from infancy to young adulthood

About the Position
- The new chief will join a growing team of experienced clinicians and staff dedicated to leveraging clinical care and research to meet the needs of a diverse patient population.
- The ideal candidate should demonstrate a capability for clinical or bench research and be interested in ongoing clinical activity.
- Opportunities for multidisciplinary collaborations are available with a variety of ongoing and upcoming programs.
- The division chief is expected to guide junior faculty and trainees in their career development, foster growth in clinical areas, expand scholarship, and establish an affirmative, positive working environment that leads to retention, in which all team members can thrive.

- The selected candidate will work in a collaborative environment with institutional support that ensures access to resources needed to succeed in advancing pediatric rheumatology care and research at both local and national levels.
- Medical degree/diploma
- Residency/fellowship certification
- Kentucky or Indiana medical license or license eligible
About Norton Children's Rheumatology
- Three pediatric rheumatologists on staff
- Clinical staff with more than two decades of experience
- Clinical research support staff to assist with grant contracting and construction
- Provides care to patient populations from Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and Southern Illinois who represent a variety of cultures
- Uses advanced technologies, including a new musculoskeletal ultrasound machine
- Developing a multidisciplinary lupus clinic in conjunction with the UofL School of Medicine hepatology and nephrology divisions
About UofL School of Medicine Division of Pediatric Rheumatology
- Works collaboratively with providers in the Department of Pediatrics and UofL School of Medicine, including:
- Pain psychologist with the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology
- Neuroimmunologist with the growing neurology division
- Adult rheumatology and internal medicine fellowships
- Growing gastroenterology division
- Engages in the education of future pediatricians and a program with 72 categorical pediatric residents, 15 child neurology residents, 20 internal medicine/pediatrics residents and 35 fellows
- Active with the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA) and Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Study Group (PRCSG)
