Hemodialysis patient care technician

We are seeking a Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician to join our team! You will be responsible for performing medical tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.

Responsibilities:

1.          Provides direct patient care for assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

2.         Verifies safety of water treatment, including start-up and shutdown.

3.         Performs disinfecting and sterilizing procedures.

4.         Performs and accurately documents pre and post dialysis assessments.

5.         Initiates and discontinues dialysis via arteriovenous fistula/graft.

6.         Monitors patient and fluid delivery system during dialysis with accurate and concise documentation of observations.

7.         Draws blood for all studies following facility procedures/protocol.

8.         Recognizes and initiates treatment for cramps, shock, air embolism, bleach or accidental renalin infusion, Hemodialysis and artificial kidney complications.

9.         Sets-up, restocks cleans of equipment.

10.      Reports patient information to Charge Nurse.

11.      Responsible for total care of assigned dialysis patients.

12.      Observes need for physical, emotional, medical support of assigned patients.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a hemodialysis patient care technician.
• Familiarity with common medical terminology
• Experience in a laboratory setting 
• Strong organizational skills
