Position: Full-Time Assistant Teacher
Hours: 9 am-6 pm, M-F

Qualifications:

• Meet state licensing requirements for education experience and age
• Experience working with preschool children
• 12 credits and/or CDA in Early Childhood Education
• Must show good leadership skills and ability to relate well to children and adults, including parents, staff members, and visitors

Responsibilities include:

• Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing the daily program for the children.
• Treat each child with dignity and respect.
• Recognize and consider the individual needs of each child.
• Help children learn to think creatively, solve problems independently, and respect themselves and others.
• Work to prevent injuries and accidents; handle them appropriately if they occur.
• Supervise the classroom according to the plans of the Lead Teacher when the Lead Teacher is out of the room.
• Attend all staff training sessions, meetings, and programs the school sponsors as requested.
• Help with meal/snack preparation and model table manners at meal/snack time.
• Share responsibility for maintaining a clean and orderly classroom.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding children and families.
• Perform other related duties as the Lead Teacher, Director, or Assistant Director requests.
• Report problems, injuries, and hazards promptly to Lead Teacher/Management.
• Physically and mentally react appropriately and immediately to unexpected circumstances.

Required qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• 16 years or older
• Valid driver's license
• Available to work: weekdays

Preferred qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience in the education industry
• Medical license/certification: CPR Certification
• Medical license/certification: First Aid Certification
• 0-1 year of total work experience
