American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist proficient in Neuro and Body IR procedures at a Level I Trauma and Stroke Center, with a minimum of 1 year of IR experience required.
Details- Interventional Radiology department within a Level I Trauma and Stroke Center
- Outpatient and inpatient procedures serving adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients across all acuity levels
- 4 procedure rooms including 2 biplane rooms and 2 single-plane rooms, plus a dedicated ultrasound room
- Staffed by 5 Body IR physicians and 3 Neurointerventional physicians, with up to 9 IR techs when fully staffed
- Procedures include Y90, TIPs, chemo embolization, UFE, PAE, trauma and stroke interventions, carotid stenting, drains, biopsies, LPs, kyphoplasty, line/port placement, filters, peripheral stents, AV fistula declot/stenting, and PE/DVT management
- Equipment includes Siemens fluoroscopy units (single and biplane) and Philips ultrasound
- McKesson PACS and Cerner PowerChart EMR (Cerner experience preferred but not required)
- 5x8 hour day shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Call requirements include 1–2 days of call per week and 1 weekend of call per month; two techs are on call each shift (primary and secondary)
- Holiday coverage required for at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
- Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience required (per job description); 2 years of overall experience with 1 year in the IR specialty is preferred per facility guidelines
- Proficiency with both single-plane and biplane radiography units
- Experience supporting Neuro and Body IR procedures
- Current ARRT certification and active MO or Compact license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification required
- Ability to ambulate, reach, and lift/move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates within 75 miles may be considered at a reduced rate
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Support Neuro and Body IR procedures including neurovascular, peripheral vascular, oncologic, and drainage/biopsy interventions
- Works alongside a primary and backup call team structure each shift
- Cerner PowerChart experience is preferred but not required
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of consideration or it will not be approved — no exceptions
- Position operates in a 24/7 healthcare environment; rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and availability during inclement weather are expected
- Regular exposure to patients with potentially contagious illnesses is an inherent part of this role
