Position Description – Custodian

PURPOSE

This document will outline the job duties for the position of Custodian

REPORTS TO

Assistant General Manager/Maintenance Director

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for task of cleaning the TMM facilities. Keeping a clean environment, daily cleaning and sanitizing of restroom facilities both at the main offices, maintenance buildings and both transfer centers.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and maintain in a sanitary condition all TMM buildings.
• Ensure daily restroom service in all buildings.
• Ensure daily trash empty and disposal in all buildings.
• Monitor all the grounds for debris.
• Ensure daily floor care is performed in all buildings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Be able to perform duties of custodian bending and light lifting required.
• Be able to lift under forty (40) pounds.
• Be able to pass a physical and drug/alcohol screening test.
• Posses a valid State issued drivers’ license.
• Be able to follow direction and be self motivated.

Essential Job Functions

• Cleaning of all TMM buildings
• Daily cleaning and sanitizing of all restroom facilities in TMM buildings.
• Daily floor care for all floors in TMM facilities.
• Daily trash pickup and disposal from all offices, break rooms, and similar containers.
• Daily cleaning of all counter surfaces in all TMM buildings.
• Daily attention also to the Transfer Center. It is treated the same as the above.
• Daily pick up of any ground debris noticed.
• Effective communication skills
• Able to have a positive personality and function with a variety of co workers, administrative and management personnel.
• Ensure confidentiality.
• Other duties as assigned by Assistant General Manager/Maintenance Director.
