Job Description\n

The CVOR Tech will perform a variety of tasks within an operating room to assist the surgical team. Responsibilities include preparing a sterile setup for surgical procedures, passing instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeons and surgical assistants, preparing and handling sterile supplies, assisting in the cleanup of the operating room, and ensuring the proper placement and operation of equipment.

Responsibilities\n

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.
\n
• Assemble both sterile and non-sterile equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
\n
• Prepare patients for surgery by conducting pre-operative washing and shaving, confirming aseptic incision sites.
\n
• Transport and position patients on the operating table, covering them with sterile drapes.
\n
• Assist the surgical team with donning sterile gowns and gloves.
\n
• Efficiently pass instruments and other sterile supplies to the surgical team during procedures.
\n
• Hold retractors or instruments, cut sutures, sponge, and suction the operative site as directed.
\n
• Assist with the preparation and disposal of specimens and the application of dressings.
\n
• Label and distribute medications according to established policies.
\n
• Transfer patients to the recovery room post-surgery.
\n
• Clean and restock the operating room while ensuring a safe and sterile environment.
\n

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

\n
• High school diploma or equivalent.
\n
• Completion of a surgical technician program or relevant military training.
\n
• 2 years of experience is required.
\n
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
\n
• Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC) preferred.
\n
