American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with NMTCB or ARRT (nuclear medicine) certification for a 13-week contract in Elizabethtown, KY.
Details- Nuclear Medicine department in an acute care hospital setting
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week
- 36 hours per week
- Active Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy license (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia, Arrhythmia, or ECG course
- Certification by the NMTCB or ARRT in nuclear medicine
- Associate's degree or higher from an ARRT- or JRCNMT-accredited institution, or graduation from a military Nuclear Medicine Program
- Proficiency in operating gamma cameras and other nuclear medicine imaging equipment
- Strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles, radiopharmaceuticals, and imaging techniques
- Commitment to radiation safety practices and compliance with regulatory standards
- MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
- License verification required if applicable
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to prescribed protocols, ensuring proper dosage and injection technique
- Operate gamma cameras and other specialized imaging equipment to capture and analyze nuclear medicine images
- Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to interpret findings and assist in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols and maintain accurate records of radiation doses administered
- Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment and troubleshoot technical issues as needed
- Maintain detailed procedural records and generate accurate reports for inclusion in patient medical records
- Participate in staff orientation and ongoing professional development activities to stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine
- Bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology or a related field is preferred
