American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 13-week travel contract at a small teaching hospital in Maine, with variable shifts covering all hours in a 24/7 department.
Details\n- \n
- Work in a single CT room at an 89-bed teaching hospital serving ED, outpatient, and inpatient populations \n
- Patient population is primarily adult and geriatric with some pediatric cases \n
- Outpatient cases include oncology, general abdominal pain, post-surgical, and trauma \n
- Average of 25–30 scans per day \n
- Biopsy procedures performed on-site; training provided — prior experience not required \n
- Cross-coverage in X-ray may be required for overnight and weekend PTO coverage \n
- Variable shifts across a 24/7 department — specific shifts (days or nights) will vary based on departmental need \n
- Weekend rotation varies based on need \n
- No on-call required \n
- Holiday coverage done in rotation with other techs \n
- Fixed assignment to the CT department; no floating within the department \n
- EMR: Cerner; PACS: AGFA Enterprise Imaging \n
- Equipment includes Siemens X.Cite and GE 16-slice PET CT (used as backup); experience with Siemens and GE preferred but not required \n

- Minimum 1 year of CT Tech experience required; more experience preferred \n
- ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications required \n
- Current BLS required \n
- ME state license required; compact license accepted — license required if applicable \n
- Proficiency with CTA studies and general CT studies required \n
- IV start skills preferred \n
- Experience with Toshiba and GE equipment preferred \n
- Must be willing to work variable shifts across all hours in a 24/7 department \n
- Permanent address must be 100+ miles south/southwest of Bangor, ME (489 State St., Bangor, ME 04401) to be considered \n
- Candidates who have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity are not eligible \n
- 2 references within the past year required, with at least one from a supervisor, manager, director, or charge nurse — peer references are not accepted \n
- Full SSN, copies of all certifications, and a Driver's License required for consideration \n
- All RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration \n
- Flu vaccination required for clearance to start; medical exemptions only, subject to facility approval \n

- First-time travelers are accepted for this position \n
- Orientation is 1–1.5 weeks depending on experience and comfort level \n
- Team includes a lead tech, on-site radiologist, and internal transport; 2 techs scheduled on weekdays and evenings, 1 tech on weekends \n
- RTO requires manager approval \n
- Scrubs may be any solid, professional color; facility scrubs are available if needed \n
